  • Disability Rights Michigan (DRM) - DRM advocates and lawyers advise individuals with disabilities of their rights and responsibilities and how to advocate for their human, civil and legal rights within the state of Michigan.   • St. Vincent Catholic Charities - Immigration Law Clinic - Offers a wide range of immigration legal services to individuals and community members across the state of Michigan. Attorneys provide direct representation in matters such as  asylum, family immigration and others. Representing individuals regardless of their immigration status or criminal history.   • 2-1-1 - A free service connecting residents with local health and human services, including food, housing, and utility assistance. 2-1-1, www.mi211.org

  • Disability Network Capital Area (DNCAP) - DNCAP provides a wide range of services including information on community resources, assistance with benefit applications, job readiness training, and peer support to individuals with disabilities. (517) 999-2760, info@dncap.org, www. dncap.org

  • Michigan Alliance for Families - Provides information, support, and education for families who have children and young adults (0-26) who receive (or my be eligible to receive) special education services. 1-800-552-4821, https://www.michiganallianceforfamilies.org/ 
  • Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) - MDHHS offers assistance with food, medical care, child welfare, adult home help support, and other essential services. www.michigan.gov/mdhhs 
  • Michigan Disability Services - Provides information about discrimination to individual with special health care needs. 1-800-426-4263. 
  • Social Security Administration (SSA) - Social Security provides financial support to individuals and their families through various programs. It offers retirement benefits for those who have worked and paid into the system, disability benefits for those unable to work due to a medical condition, and survivor benefits for families of deceased workers. Additionally, it administers Supplemental Security Income (SSI), which provides income to individuals with limited income and resources who are disabled, blind, or 65 or older.   • Tri-County Office on Aging (TCOA) - TCOA helps older adults, adults with disabilities, and caregivers access programs and benefits, improve their health, and remain active in their communities. (517) 887-1440https://www.tcoa.org/

  • Lansing Housing Commission - Provides affordable housing options and resources for residents in need. (517) 487-6550, www.lanshc.org
  • MSU Housing Justice Clinic - Provides support to  low-to-moderate-income Michigan residents who have rental or homeownership issues. The clinic offers short-term representation to clients through the Eviction Diversion Program, as well as doing more intensive work with long-term clients.
